I haven’t really decorated much for Valentine’s Day in the past but I thought I would do a few projects this year. On my last trip to the local scrapbook store, I came along some great Valentine’s lines. My favorite one was the “Be Mine” collection from Echo Park {I think this is now my favorite paper line and I picked up some great “boy themed” paper from them too!}
Last year, I picked up some wooden LOVE letters from the dollar store {one of those things that I buy with no real idea in mind of what I am going to do with them!} So with the letters and the paper in hand, I came up with this.
The frame is an old Ikea frame that started of like this
I painted the frame black and distressed the edges a bit.
For the letters, I had some old chipboard from Autumn Leaves {which I have also had for years!}. I painted the negative space letters black and covered the other letters with paper. I then inked the edges of the paper letters with black ink.
I added a few ribbons and some embellishments from the paper pack {I actually just cut the Be Mine out from the packaging itself so I still have the actual sticker for another project} Finally, I used double sided tape to attach the wooden letters to the outside of the frame.
And here is the final project.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!
