Blooms and Butterflies

Hey everyone!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Time has been sparse around here lately but I have been trying to find a little time here and there to work on some decor for my craft room.  I need some pretty things for my girly room!

I have seen many beautiful arrangements of faux flowers hot glued on to branches like this one from Cottage Hill.   I also loved these butterflies from The Given Life.  So I thought I would combine the two ideas into this:

I have been waiting to come up with something to do with these little jars and just picked some twigs from the backyard.  I found these flowers from the dollar store
And had these left over from my Spring Tree:

The glue gun and I are not very good friends so I try to stay away from her as much as possible.  For the white flowers I just pulled them off and slid them onto my twigs.  Can you see the little hole there?

If you have larger branches you will have to pull out the glue gun I suppose.  For the green berries, I just cut off the branches and twisted them around my twigs. I downloaded some butterfly templates from here, cut a few out, and traced them onto scrapbook paper (mine was from American Crafts).  I outlined the butterflies in black pen to make them stand out a little better and glued them onto the twigs with Quick Grip Glue.

And up onto the shelf it goes.  My poor little twigs are still pretty lonely up there but I have some more projects in the works!
Be careful driving tomorrow – the Monday after the clocks go forward is the day of the year with the most accidents.  Too many sleep deprived people on the roads!

Have a great week!
