I don’t do a lot of decorating for Valentine’s Day, but the house always looks so bare when the Christmas decorations come down that it is nice to put some things out. The pops of red are a good way to battle those winter blues too!
I left out some of my snowy pinecones and a few red items from our Christmas decor, and then just added a few Valentine’s items here and there. It doesn’t take much to add that loving touch! Hopefully some of these Valentine’s Day decor ideas will help to spread a little love to your home too. 🙂
One of my favorite things to decorate each season is our buffet and hutch in the dining room. I usually just have simple white dinnerware in there so it is easy to change up.
I picked up the burlap heart banner from Target but I didn’t really like the red ribbon that was originally running along the top or the mix of pink and red hearts. So, I pulled it apart, ruffled a French script ribbon and then just stitched the red heart back on.
If you would like to create your own Valentine’s Day hot chocolate bar, you can find the labels to download HERE.
My ruffled Valentine’s Day wreath has taken one too many falls and the foam is cracked in several places. Even though it can no longer hang, I didn’t want to get rid of it, so I placed in this basket with our placemats.
I used a lot of past Valentine’s Day projects when I was putting together this hutch including this Valentine’s Day countdown {from a pillbox}, a couple of paper flower balls, and our Buckets of Love Valentine’s Day paint can.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen our new chalkboard that I picked up for the kitchen {I can never pass up a good chalkboad!}. I just wrote a simple message and added a paper heart bunting to the top {also from Michaels}.
I always like to do a little vignette with our clock scale in our kitchen each season. I just left the red colander and snowy pinecones from our Christmas decor and added a couple of paper hearts and a red dishtowel.
It’s funny how it is always the simple things that I love the best. I picked up this love felt cake topper from Michaels and added it to a little faux greenery. Super cute and it took a total of ten seconds to do!
I have our Valentine’s Day chalkboard up in the piano room along with my favorite love pillow.
Well, that about wraps up the tour! I hope it brought you a little love! Have a wonderful weekend.

I love love love your cocoa bar/station. So cute – and so perfect for how chilly it can be!
Also those little bowls on your hutch that have the hearts on them – such a cute pop of pink and red without being overly Valentine’s themed!
I love all of the ideas that you’ve shown in your house. Such simple but stunning ideas. I wish I was that creative.
I was wondering where you got your chalkboard, the one you use all the time. It looks a perfect size. I have hunted and hunted and am almost at the point of having a friend make one for me.
I think almost all of my chalkboards have come from Decor Steals. It is a daily deal site though so you have to keep your eyes open! They also have a sister site called Anitque Farmhouse that also often has chalkboards.
Your house looks so sweet decorated for Valentine’s Day. I’ve never really even thought about V-Day décor, but I think I may need to this year. Your home is beautiful!
