Ahh!! I can’t believe it’s November already! While we’ve already celebrated Thanksgiving up in Canada, I know that most of you in the states are now just starting to plan for your big holiday and collect ideas for this year’s celebrations. Hopefully these 10 Minute Thanksgiving Decorating Projects – and free printable Thanksgiving place cards – will help you create the perfect setting!
You can find more beautiful Thanksgiving ideas from some of my blogging friends at the end of the post, but I’m going to start with my Thanksgiving tablescape and these simple free printable Thanksgiving place cards. They’re such an easy way to personalize your table!
While I love all of the elaborate tablescape designs, I kept ours fairly basic so there was lots of room left for the food! I used some orange napkins for a seasonal punch of color and some pretty copper napkin rings that I found in the dollar section of Target.
I created a pretty Thanksgiving display on our side table along with some candles. {You can find the rustic wooden sign tutorial HERE}. It adds some warmth to the room without taking up any of the much needed table space. Food is much more important. 🙂
I also used my free printable chalkboard menu from a couple of years ago to write out the evening’s dinner menu. They can also be printed smaller to use at each place setting, but I just made one print up this year and placed it on a clipboard stand.
The place cards were the finishing touch to the table and I designed them to match this fall printable that I created last year. I have a larger version in a frame hanging beside our buffet and hutch this year.
Free Printable Place Cards
To create your place cards, just download the printable, print them out onto thicker 8 1/2 x 11 paper, trim with a paper cutter {or scissors!}, and fold. I have designed them so the back of the card is slightly shorter than the front. This allows them to lean back slightly to prevent them from falling forward. Trim each place card, right below the leaves on the bottom and they should line up pretty well.
I hope you enjoy them!
