You can find all of the recipes at the end of the post but first I want to share this easy swiss cheese, bacon, and beer dip with you.
Swiss Cheese, Bacon, and Beer Dip Recipe
This cheese, bacon, and beer dip recipe is basically a spin on the classic swiss cheese fondue in a party form. It’s easy to make and you can always play around with the spices a bit to customize the flavor.
Swiss Cheese, Bacon and Beer Dip
This swiss cheese, bacon, and beer dip is quick and easy to throw together and is sure to be a party hit!
Ingredients
- 1 8 oz. package cream cheese
- 1 cup medium-bodied beer
- 250 grams (about 2 cups) Swiss cheese, shredded (Emmantel or other Swiss cheese)
- 125 grams (about 1 cup) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt, or to taste
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp pepper, or to taste
- 2 tsp minced garlic {or 1-2 cloves finely chopped)
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions
-
Cook bacon. Crumble and set aside.
-
In a medium saucepan, heat the cream cheese and beer over medium-high heat. Whisk until the cream cheese is melted.
-
Whisk in the shredded cheese 1/2 cup at a time making sure the cheese is melted before adding additional cheese.
-
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, garlic, nutmeg, salt and pepper until well combined. Stir in bacon reserving a small amount for garnish.
-
Pour into a serving bowl or mini crock pot and sprinkle with remaining bacon. Serve warm with cubed French bread, crackers, crostinis, or mini naan breads.
I served ours up in one of these Little Dipper crockpots. If you like to serve warm dips {and keep them warm throughout the party} this works perfectly! You just need to make sure you have a spot to plug it in.
What should I serve with the cheese and beer dip?
We used mini naan bread and some crackers for our dip but here are a few other dipper ideas…
- crusty bread (French bread, sour dough, etc.), cubed
- crostinis
- soft pretzles
- broccoli or cauliflower florets {I like them slightly steamed but you could use raw veggies if you wanted them to last through a full evening}
What do I do with the leftovers?
If you happen to have any leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. When you’re ready to use it, you can either warm it up or use it as a cheese spread on crackers or sandwiches. For re-heating, place it in a saucepan and heat on the stove over low heat until melted. Personally, I love to use it on grilled cheese sandwiches – it’s SO good!
