Farmhouse style dining room decorated with blues, whites, and greens.
Even though there are still a few official weeks left of summer, I feel like the end is near. We just returned from our last summer trip {an awesome Disney cruise to Alaska}, the kids head back to school on Tuesday, and the fall activities have already started up. Blogging has kind of been on the back burner this summer as I took some time off to spend with the family, but the end of summer means a return to the regular blogging schedule.
I thought I would close out my summer posts with a last look at our summer farmhouse style dining room. I know it’s late in the season, but I didn’t really get a chance to show it to you. I have a feeling that it will soon be filled with pumpkins, so enjoy the summer vibe while you still can. Consider it a little inspiration for next year. 😉
I went with a blue, white, and green color palette for the dining room this year. I’ve really been loving navy lately and you can never go wrong with some pops of greenery. This little ladder always holds some seasonal linens – afavorite thing of mine to collect. The centerpiece is a simple collection of ceramic pitchers, various candle holders, and a pretty garland of greenery.
I found these cute navy ceramic berry bowls in the dollar section of Target and had to pick a couple up. I live off berries {and ice cream!} during the summer so I knew that they’d be well used. Instead of setting up my usual beverage bar in the corner, I went with a U-pick berry theme instead.
I always love playing around with chalkboard designs!
Beside our front entryway in the other corner of the room, I added a fern {which is surprisingly still thriving!} and another summer chalkboard – an ode to my favorite summer treat.
I mean, what screams summer more than ice-cream?
Our sideboard is used to hold our extra dishes and serving ware. Most of them are white so I can use them with any color scheme. I did pick up a couple of new blue serving bowls from Home Sense though and, of course, added a couple of pops of green.
Oh, and one more chalkboard because I love those bright, bright, sunshiny days.
I hope you enjoyed the little tour and truly soak up the rest of the summer. Fall will be here before we know it!

Everything you showed is wonderful, great styling and I love it all. How fun to take Disney cruise to Alaska. As hot as it’s been in western CO and lots of other places hope it was cool there. We’re still having 90 degree temps.
Happy daze

Lovely, thanks for sharing (and it wasn’t too late – all the autumn posts have been too early for my liking!)

Thank-you! I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s not ready to move on to fall!
