Transition your home to spring with these pretty spring living room decor ideas. Simple decorating tips that anyone can do.
Spring Living Room Decor Ideas
Although I do enjoy the coziness of winter, I’m always more than ready for spring to arrive. I love the longer, brighter days, the beautiful spring flowers, and all of the budding greenery around. I try to bring those same ideas inside when I decorate the house for spring and aim for a light, airy feel. Today, I thought that I’d share some of our spring living room decor with you. I hope these simple tips inspire you to add some spring to your own space…
Switch up the throw pillows.
Throw pillows are an easy way to switch up your decor. To save on money and storage space, mix neutral pillows that you can use all year round with a few seasonal pillows that you can change up throughout the year. When possible, I try to purchase just the pillow covers so they’re easier to store in the off season. But sometimes a good pillow is just too good to pass up! 🙂
Create a seasonal vignette.
If you have seasonal items that you want to display, put them together into a little vignette on a side table or sofa table. I created this Easter terrarium for early spring and will switch it up with some flowers and birds for the rest of spring and summer. I like larger pieces like this terrarium that can be used for multiple seasonal decor.
Trade heavy blankets for more light weight throws.
I always switch up the blankets on our blanket ladder in spring to lighter, brighter colored throws. I’ll eventually switch out the blanket on the sofa too for something a little more light weight, but it can still be chilly here at night. I usually head to HomeSense for good throw options, but this herringbone throw from Amazon is a good online option.
Add greenery.
One of my favorite things to add to our spring decor are pretty pops of greenery. I generally use a mix of both real and faux greenery and add sprigs or pots in various places around the room.
Diffuse a spring scent.
I use our diffuser almost every day and I love switching our scents up throughout the year. During the spring and summer, I tend to use more light, citrusy scents. I also like mixing different essential oils to create my own scent. I keep the oils and a small water jar in one of the drawers in the television stand so they’re easy to access, but you could always a small, pretty basket to contain these if you don’t have extra storage space.
Use artwork as inspiration.
Choose a focal spot to display a seasonal sign or artwork. I use this wall on the landing on our staircase as we see it all the time. This beach landscape painting had the perfect colors for the room and I love the calm and relaxed feeling that it evokes.
I hope you enjoyed the tour and found some spring inspiration for your own home!
