2018 Spring Home Tour Blog Hop
Hello from Bali! I’m excited to be kicking off today’s spring home tours with Marty from A Stroll Thru Life and an amazing group of home decor bloggers. The tours ended off yesterday over at Pink Peppermint Design {her spring kitchen is gorgeous so be sure to check it out!} and will be continuing all week. You can find all of the home tours at the end of the post, so I hope you can find a little time to sit, relax, and be inspired for spring.
Spring Decorations for the Dining Room
Today I’m going to be sharing our spring dining room with you. If you haven’t been following along on my Instagram stories, our family is currently travelling around Bali for three weeks. It’s been nothing but warm weather and sunshine since we arrived, so I’m hoping that some nice spring weather will be awaiting us when we arrive home! {Although I heard that it’s supposed to snow at home this weekend!}
Before we left, I tried to get the house {at least partially!} decorated for spring. I started off with our spring kitchen and made it through to the dining room and front entryway. I thought that a little spring decor might make the transition back to reality a little less painful when we return. We also had an early Easter dinner since we’ll be on a plane flying home for 22 hours on Easter Sunday – and will probably be sleeping most of Monday!
Spring Sidebar
The side bar is usually the first thing that I change up each season. The white trees are actually Christmas decorations {shhh… don’t tell!} but I love the lights on them at night and the height that they add. I’m not sure if I’ll leave them up through the summer, but, for now, I think they’ll stay.
As you can tell, I love white ceramic bunnies and I’ve collected quite a few of them over the years. Most of them are in the dining room but they often sneak into other rooms as well. The Happy Easter printable is from last year and can easily be switched up for a spring print once Easter is over.
Spring Tablescape
I love creating tablescapes for special dinners. We don’t actually eat in here very often {we usually eat at the kitchen table}, but there’s usually at least one holiday or another that we can celebrate in here each month.
For our early Easter dinner, I just did some quick Easter table decorations using the Happy Easter place cards that I made last year, some pink napkins, and a little carrot decoration for fun. And, of course, tulips always go with everything!
I love collecting salt and pepper shakers for my seasonal tablescapes – they’re small enough to store easily, inexpensive to buy, serve a functional purpose, and add that whimsical touch to the table.
Spring Centerpiece
I shopped our house for our spring centerpiece and just collected a few items from various places. I filled a large dough bowl with a couple of candle sconces, some faux greenery and a few stems of faux flowers. {Don’t be afraid to cut up a flower stem to get exactly the size you want.}
For Easter, I added a few faux Easter eggs that can easily be removed once Easter is over.
Spring Buffet and Hutch
I painted our table, buffet and hutch Graphite from Annie Sloan a few years ago and am still loving the darker furniture against the light walls and white tableware. It’s easy to change it up for the different holidays with just a few seasonal touches and pops of color.
You can see that the bunny and carrot collection continues throughout the hutch. There are even a few baby ones! 🙂
Thank-you so much for dropping by today and sharing in our home tours! If you’re new here, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter and follow along on social media. I’d love to see you again!
