This slow cooker creamed corn side dish is sure to be a holiday favorite! It’s easy to make, frees up stove-space and is the perfect compliment to all of your holiday dishes.
Holiday Meal Planning
With the holidays approaching, it’s time to start thinking about your dinner menus. This slow cooker creamed corn is one of my favorite side dishes and goes perfectly with all of the other traditional holiday fixings. Not only is it a great time saver, but it also frees up some valuable stove space for other dishes that you might be making.
I’m not a huge turkey person but I love all of the fixings and this tastes amazing with potatoes and stuffing. It might not be the most calorie-saving recipe, but the holidays are a time to splurge, right?
Slow Cooker Creamed Corn Recipe
This slow cooker creamed corn is sure to be a holiday crowd pleaser!
- 2 lbs. frozen corn, 5 (341 mL) cans of canned corn, or 6 cobs of fresh corn. I prefer the white and yellow corn if using frozen.
- 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, sliced
- ½ cup butter, sliced
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ tbsp. sugar {optional depending on how sweet your corn is}
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. pepper
- Place the corn and milk in the slow cooker and top with thick slices of the cream cheese and butter. Add remaining ingredients.
- Cook on high for 3-4 hours {or on low for 5-6 hours}. I like to stir up the ingredients about half way through; however, if you're busy cooking and forget {or just aren't home}, stir well at the end and then cook for 15 more minutes.
- Add additional salt and pepper to taste and serve. I also love it with some ground red pepper flakes!
This is pretty much a set it and go kind of recipe, so you can spend more time visiting with your family and friends and less time in the kitchen. It’s a win-win for all involved!
If the sauce seems a little runny, it will thicken after it’s been removed from the heat for about 5-10 minutes. I could seriously eat this as my main course but it tastes amazing with some mashed potatoes and stuffing {and, of course, turkey}. This slow cooker creamed corn is also great for leftovers and adds some extra flavour mixed in with soups as well.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Creamed corn is often a side dish at our Thanksgiving table. I do like the idea of using a slow cooker (I have 6 different sizes) for as many dishes as possible. Thanks for coming to the party and sharing with Fiesta Friday.
