I must say that I am not a huge football fan {don’t hate me!}; however, I do enjoy watching the big games and LOVE all of the food that comes with them!! With the Superbowl fast approaching, I have teamed up with some of my favorite blogging buddies to bring you some awesome game day appetizer ideas as well as a $400 game day prize pack giveaway!
Is your mouth watering yet? 🙂
I know that there is a lot of deliciousness in there but just stick around here a little bit longer. I’ll be starting off with my Sausage Roll Pinwheels….
These are so quick and easy to make and are a fun twist from the standard sausage rolls!
Sausage Roll Pinwheels
Ingredients
- 2 cups biscuit mix
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 lb. sausage meat {I like it spicy but you could use mild as well}
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450 F.
- Stir the biscuit mix and the onion powder together. Gradually add the water and mix until it forms a ball.
- Place the dough ball on a lightly floured surface and knead 6-8 times. Roll out into a rectangle {approximately 12 x15 inches}
- Mash up the sausage meat a bit with a fork to make it easier to spread and spread over the dough.
- Beginning on the long side, roll up the dough like a jelly roll. Slice into rolls approximately 1/2 inch thick {or just a little less}.
- Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet leaving about 1 inch in between them. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes approximately 30.
