March is here so it’s time to say good-bye to winter and hello to spring! Mother Nature may not agree with me {we’re scheduled for more snow this weekend!}, but at least I can pretend that it’s spring inside with these spring decorating ideas.
Today I’ve joined some of my favorite blogging friends for another 10 minute decorating post. In case you haven’t guessed, this month is all about spring! Be sure to check out all of the beautiful {yet simple} spring decorating ideas at the end of the post. I’m sure they’ll get you all excited for spring if you’re not already! 🙂
I started the spring decorating in our dining room this year and spruced up our side table. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers and I love all of the colors that they come in. When I see them come out in the stores, I know that spring must be just around the corner.
Since I can’t always have fresh tulips, I decided to use some faux ones in this rustic lantern. Lanterns are perfect for seasonal decorating – just switch up what you place in it each season and you have a whole new decor item. You can use it year round and don’t have to worry about storage in the off-season!
I just filled mine with some moss, a little nest, and a ceramic bird before adding in the tulips. Super simple and you can get it done in just a couple of minutes!
I still have to work on the rest of the dining room, but hopefully this will help to spread some spring in the air.
What about you? Have you started any spring decorating yet or have any old lanterns kicking around that you could use? Really, any glass container would work – you could even do a little mini version in a mason jar!
Before you go, be sure to check out more beautiful 10 minute decorating ideas for spring. Spending a few minutes “springifying” your home is one of the best cures for the winter blues! 🙂

Absolutely precious. Where did you get the lantern and the mirror!!!!!!!! Marjorie
Jenn Lifford says
Thanks Marjorie! The mirror is from Urban Barn and I picked up the lantern at a local nursery {Triple Tree if you happen to be near the Maple Ridge area!}.

Jenn, Would like your opinion about colors for bedroom furniture. I chalk painted a chest dark grey- similar color to your hutch. Used Amy Howard- GOOD MAN IS HARD TO FIND. I have a night stand and bench that is off white and a small cane chair that is a dark wood. I was thinking about chalk painting but struggling with colors. The quilt on the bed has white, blue, tan, dark and light grey colors. Not sure how to coordinate colors. Night stand same dark grey?? Bench and chair blue color?? or light grey? The wall color in the room is called accessible beige by Sherwin William. I am so confused!!!! I didn’t want to have furniture too many different colors. Not sure what the rule of thumb is. Thanks for input Marjorie

Very cute display on the side table. Love the pretty tulips and how the lantern turned out. You have a beautiful kitchen- love the aqua food strainer- catches the eye! The dough bowl planter looks fabulous. I’m excited for spring too but have to keep myself in check since I live in northern Michigan and winter drags on for a while.
