It’s hard to believe that there are just 5 weeks left until Christmas! I know that these weeks will fly by, so I’m trying to get as much of the holiday preparations done as I can before December hits. Christmas shopping is definitely one of those items that I like to get done sooner rather than later. No one likes running around a shopping mall a couple of days before Christmas trying to find that “perfect gift”!
To help you out with some awesome gift-giving ideas, I’ve teamed up with a few of my blogging friends to show you our top Christmas picks this year. You can find all of the links to everyone’s favorite gift guides at the end of the post, but I’m going to get started first with my Hygge Christmas Gift Guide {affiliate links included.}
I love giving Christmas gifts that I know will be useful as well as provide a little “pampering” for the recipient. Taking time for ourselves doesn’t always happen, so gifts that promote some “me time” or self-care are always high on my list. Last winter, I discovered the art of hygge and really enjoyed trying to incorporate it into my regular, daily routines as much as possible. If you haven’t heard of it before, hygge is basically the Danish ritual of enjoying life’s little pleasures. It’s about celebrating family and friends, and creating a warm and cozy environment in your home to promote contentment and well-being.
Now who wouldn’t want that?

When I was a young woman was told was selfish when I did something for myself with 3 small kids. Later got divorced then remarried and had another child.
Was told this by my Mother who was from completely different generation. My generation was called “sandwich:” generation – between old ideas and newer ideas.
Now Mr. Furry and I have been known to stay in bed til noon or so. Me reading usually and him snoozing. When he gets up he remarks about feeling guilty, not me. We’re in our later 70’s, raised 4 kids, worked, did what we should when we should.
We’re not entitled to take it easy when we want however we want? We both also worked in our later 60’s into early 70’s..
I find it quite lovely staying in bed relaxing, reading, til we feel like getting up. the cat is cuddled up between us, dog snoozing on rug next to bed. We do this mostly in times of colder weather.
Think would like to get copy of that book. Have noticed how much smarter about many ideas people from your generation are about how you live and relax, good for you.
Wishing you and yours a most wonderful Thanksgiving.

Sorry for the late reply! I love that you’re embracing a slower lifestyle – and not feeling guilty! Balancing out work with some down time can definitely be beneficial for all. 🙂

Don’t those socks look awesome? I love getting all cozy in the colder weather. The book is a great read – very simple reading but I enjoyed it!

It’s so funny; I was just introduced to hygge literally this afternoon by a girlfriend of mine and now to see this list it’s like “where has this been all my life?!” Love this list. Pinned and shared.

Isn’t it funny how that works? As soon as you hear something new it seems to be everywhere! lol!
