Hello friends! Before we get to the July tasks for The Household Organization Diet, I have a little secret to tell you. I know things have been quiet on the blog lately, but I have been working feverishly behind the scenes on a HUGE project. The Household Organization Diet will soon become a book!!! Eek!! I can hardly believe it, but I’m in the final couple of weeks of writing the first manuscript and it will hopefully be hitting the shelves in January 2017. This has definitely been a huge labor of love that has taken way more time and energy than I originally anticipated, but I’m excited to get it finished and I can’t wait to show you! Thanks so much for all of your patience and support as I get things wrapped up. xo
Okay. Now that I have made my little announcement, it’s time to get going on some garage organization! Hopefully you were able to finish up your tasks in the laundry room and entryways last month and are ready to move on. With all of the projects that I’ve been working on, our garage is a huge disaster zone right now so I’m actually looking forward to getting things back in order again. I’ve had a few spray painting incidents on the floor, so I’ll need to do another coat of paint there, but I mostly just have a whole lot of decluttering and re-organizing to do.
Ready to get going? Here are the tasks for this month…

To keep myself on track, I also like to use a monthly calendar to write down when I plan on doing each of the tasks. You can read more about how I use the calendar in my cleaning binder HERE.

Congratulations on the book! I’m super excited. While I have printed out the various forms/help lists and read the blog and view your Pinterest page, it would be SO helpful to have all the forms/sheets/how to’s in one location and already in print. Sometimes when it is the month for the garage or kid’s playroom (which I don’t have) I like to work on something else, but have to hunt around for everything. The book will be great. Please keep us posted!!
Best wishes,
Jacki

Thanks so much! I was so happy to get everything down in one place and the information is really more complete and easier to follow in a book. I can’t wait until it comes out! The book won’t likely include the printables; however, I’m hoping to release the whole year of calendars and printables on the blog in January when the book is released and looking into making them editable so you can customize them to whatever you would like. Thanks so much for following along! xo

Your garage looks fantastic! Mine is such a disaster I just like to run into the house, close the door, and pretend it doesn’t exist. Not the best strategy, that’s for sure. Congratulations on your book!
Jenn Lifford says
Thanks Emily. Ours looks like that at times too but it’s so nice to come home to a clean one!

I just love your ideas. I need to know how a person can paint a peg board and NOT fill in the holes. Please tell me. Thank you, Mary.
Jenn Lifford says
Thanks so much. I’m not sure what you mean about not filling in the holes. Do you mean that you get paint blobs in them or that you want the holes to be the original color and you just want to paint the rest? Either way spraying it with a paint sprayer gives you a lot more control and the paint goes on more thinly so you don’t get blobs. Hope that helps!

This looks amazing, really spotless 🙂
I hope it will stay that way – it can, it just requires some self-discipline from everybody, I guess …
Jenn Lifford says
A little self-discipline can go a long way! 😉

Your garage is just beautiful! Cleaning out our garage has been on my list so this is exactly what I need. After moving twice in 3 years our garage is like a war zone. 😉 I definitely am going to try making a pegboard wall, that is just adorable!
Jenn Lifford says
Packing up to move would be my worst nightmare! lol! I hope the pegboard works out for you – it’s amazing how much stuff you can store on it!

lol! Ours was a nightmare too when we started. It’s nice to come home to a clean one though since it’s the first thing you see when you come home! 🙂

Great organization. My garage hasn’t never been as clean and tidy as your. It’s always messy. But I think I’ll try to organize it after reading your post. Thanks so much for sharing!
