Christmas Kitchen Decor
Today I’m going to be showing you our Christmas kitchen decor and sharing a few simple ways that you can add that seasonal touch to your own kitchen. It’s amazing how just a few little additions can make such a big impact! Over the years, I’ve developed a simple routine for adding our seasonal decor in the kitchen. Even though I change up the details each year, my thought process behind it all still generally stays the same. So… here are some simple ways to add some Christmas magic to your kitchen space.
Style a tray.
I always like to start off with some kind of Christmas display that sets the color scheme and overall feel for the rest of the kitchen. The far corner of our kitchen works well for this as it keeps things out of the way while still being a focal point when you walk in the room. This year I chose a green and white color scheme and kind of have a bit of a Christmas tree theme going. I also used some dried orange slices to add a bit of a color pop {you can find the easy DIY here}.
Using a tray for a base helps to keep everything corralled together and makes things feel a little more put together. It also makes it easier for cleaning the counters when needed!
Add faux branches or greenery.
If you want to add a quick seasonal touch, just place some faux winter branches or greenery to a vase or bowl. I used faux juniper cedar branches in the kitchen this year.
The large stems were from Target and I picked up a bunch of smaller juniper sprays on Amazon. Using the same greenery throughout your space will help to tie everything together
Mix functional with decorative.
If you have a small kitchen or just don’t like a lot of clutter, mix in a few of your favorite Christmas decor pieces with your regular kitchen items. I added a couple of Christmas trees and an extra kitchen towel to our kitchen utensil tray along with a Christmas rolling pin and wooden spoon. I also found a cute Christmas tree cutting board that I stacked up in behind.
Dress up the sink.
It may be weird, but I always like dressing up the sink for the holidays. Switching up our hand and dish soap scents always seems to signal the start of a new season. 😉
Gather all of your sink essentials together on a tray or cutting board. I picked up this pretty Christmas bowl for just a few dollars at Marshalls for our kitchen scrub brush. The dish soap and hand soap bottles were from Grove Collaborative.
Switch up your artwork.
A simple frame with some holiday artwork is one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to add a seasonal touch to your space. I have tons of free Christmas printables on the blog – there’s something for every color scheme and style!
I used this Merry Little Christmas print this year, but here’s a little sneak peek at one of the new Christmas tree prints that I’m using in our dining room.
On the other side of the room, I also used my North Pole Cookie Co. sign. This one comes in lots of different colors and I finally got a chance to use the green!
Create a beverage bar.
Although no one here drinks coffee, I still like to have a hot beverage bar for our teas, hot chocolate, and chai. I purchased this milk frother about a year ago and I love it! I often have a steamed milk in the evening or make chai lattes. It also makes the best hot chocolate. If you’re looking for coffee bar labels {like the chai label} you can find them HERE.
Add some fresh greens.
We no longer get a real Christmas tree, but I still like to try to add some fresh greens in other places of our home. I love this centerpiece of Christmas greens and a variety of white flowers.
Light it up!
I don’t think I have any room in our house without twinkle lights! They just make everything look prettier! I always use the battery operated twinkle lights that come with a timer so I don’t have to remember to turn them on and off each day. I just set them once to come on when it starts to get dark and they stay on for 6 hours.

Please give sources for the different trees.

The green and white trees as well as the cookie jar trees are from HomeSense (or HomeGoods in the states). The white tree on the tray was from World Market many years ago and the white/silver tree in the little beverage bar was just from a local shop. I have seen a similar one at Hobby Lobby though. If there are others that I missed, just let me know. 🙂
