If you love gnome Christmas decor, put together a cute display with your favorite gnome pieces. Easy tips and a free gnome printable to help you create your own Christmas vignette!
Gnome Christmas Decor
My favorite thing with seasonal decorating is putting together little vignettes. This year I found these cute little gnome mugs at Walmart {for $2!} and they inspired me to put together a fun gnome vignette. {NOTE: The mugs are sold out online but they were still available at our local Walmart when I was there yesterday.} I gathered up a few more of my gnome pieces along with some random items that I had around the house, and created this cute Christmas display.
How to Put Together a Christmas Vignette
Putting together a Christmas vignette can be a lot of fun and is the perfect way to add a seasonal touch to your home. Here’s a few tips for putting together one of your own…
Pick a Spot.
You can create a vignette almost anywhere – in the corner of the kitchen, on a shelving unit, or even a little side table. Even if you don’t have a big space, you can always find somewhere that will work! If you don’t have a defined space, try using a large tray or cutting board as your base to make your display look more cohesive. This tray table is in the corner of our dining room and I always use it as a dedicated space for some kind of seasonal vignette.
Choose a theme or color scheme.
Picking a color scheme or theme will help you create a cohesive look. Obviously I went with a gnome theme for my Christmas vignette, but I also wanted it to be a functional place to store Christmas treats – cookies, hot chocolate, and some favorite Christmas candies. I also wanted to stick with traditional red and white with just a few pops of greenery.
Shop your home.
Once you’ve decided on your theme or color, shop your home for items that might work with your display. You can also look for neutral items that will go with anything – neutral colors, wood tones, etc. Often, I incorporate a little riser or small cake stand to add some height and dimension to the display.
For this vignette, I searched around my Christmas stash and grabbed my gnome cookie jar that I’ve had for a few years and a white Christmas tree for some added height. I also looked for other red and white decor pieces that would go with the display such as the red wood beads and measuring spoons.
Add a printable.
A printable is an easy and inexpensive way to add that extra touch to your vignette. They’re also one of my favorite things to create! 🙂 You can frame them, add them to a clipboard, tape them to a cutting board or chalkboard – or display them however you’d like. You can find this Gnomemade Christmas Treats printable at the end of the post or choose from any of my other free Christmas printables.
Finish with a few cute details.
Once you’ve added all of the main pieces, you can fill in any blank spaces with a few cute details. I added some faux greenery for an extra pop of color, a few silver bells and twinkle lights for some shine, and Christmas candies and candy canes for a little extra red and white.

Love your hot chocolate bar idea! Curious about the ladder that displays your mugs. Where can I purchase one? Thank you!

It was from Decor Steals. It’s a daily deal site so I don’t have a direct link but it does come back on there every now and then. I tried to find it elsewhere but it’s only listed on a few sites and they’re all sold out. You could also just get a regular decor ladder with flat slats and attach your own hooks too. 🙂
