Happy Saturday! Last week I posted about my plan to get organized for the holidays and I have been working a little bit all week to collect items that we no longer need or use. I had almost a full garbage bag of things that were really just junk and a whole truck load of items that I need to take down to Goodwill. I also took a bin of the kids’ old clothes to a second hand store and made an extra $80. I would say that it was a good week’s work. 🙂
I have also been working on getting my Christmas planner together and printed off my gift planning worksheet to get going on some gift ideas.

I actually make two copies of this list – one to keep in my planner and another one that I fold up in my purse. If I come across an idea for someone I can just write it out, and the list is always with me if I make a spur of the moment visit to the mall. Just tick it off when it is purchased and you can easily see who you still have to shop for. {If you are like me and sometimes forget where you have put a present that you have bought, you can also write down where you have stored it in the purchased section!}
I know it may seem early to start thinking about shopping, but if you buy things as you go, it saves so much time and is a lot easier on the budget. And, you get to avoid the shopping mall holiday madness once December rolls around!
If you missed my post on Monday. I teamed up with a 23 other bloggers to bring you the Ultimate Holiday gift guide with some awesome gift ideas for everyone on your list and, if you hurry, there are also some amazing giveaways to go with it! {closes on November 9}. You can find my holiday gift guide for women HERE.
And if you would like to have some Christmas treats while you are doing all of that planning, I am over at Yellow Bliss Road today sharing one of my favorite Christmas cookies – Red Velvet Shortbread! Come on over and say hello!
Happy Holiday Organizing!

Oh, no, it can’t be too early to start shopping…just the road to the mall was terribly crowded this morning!!
I’ve never actually used a gift tracker before, but am trying it out this year. So far, I love it! Keeping what my ideas for gifts are on paper is amazing – no brain space needed, ha. Just today, we were out shopping at Walmart, and remembered my mom wanted towels. Lucky for me, I wrote down what colors she had asked for! Granted, I couldn’t find the right color, but the idea is there. 🙂
