These free printable Mother’s Day cards are sure to put a smile on any Mom’s face. Fill them with heartfelt words of your own for a memorable Mother’s Day gift.
What to write in a Mother’s Day Card
I keep all of my kids’ Mother’s Day cards in a little box in our bedroom and I love looking back at their sweet {and often really funny!} words that they wrote. They are far better than any Mother’s day gift that I’ve ever received and I will treasure them always. If you have little kids, ask them some card prompts like “What do you love most about your Mom”, “What’s the best thing that Mom ever did?”, or “Why is your Mom fun?”. They can come up with the BEST responses! One of my sons gave me a sweet card saying that he loved me because I gave him life! Very true… 😉
If you’re older, take some time to put down your feelings in words. Life can get busy and we often don’t say how much we appreciate and love our moms. A few sentences written by you will mean so much more than a card that you can buy in the store. Let her know what you love about her and what makes her special to you. If you’re stuck for words, you can even browse some cards in the store to get a few ideas. Just speak from the heart and it will mean the world to her.
Mother’s Day Card Ideas
A homemade Mother’s Day card is always a special touch, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen! What’s really important though, are the sweet words that are inside the card so take some time to write that special personalized note. A little handprint is also a nice touch for the little ones or include a few of your favorite photos or you and Mom. This handprint photo card that I gave to my husband for Valentine’s Day one year would be perfect for Mother’s Day!
If you’re short on time though, I’m here to help you out with some free printable Mother’s Day cards. There are 6 designs to choose from so I’m sure you can find one that you {and your Mom!} will love!
How to Make a Mother’s Day Card
- Download one of the free printable Mother’s Day cards below and print it out. One of these Valentine’s Day cards would also work for Mother’s Day.
- Decide what card format you would like. You can print it out as is, fold in half, and then trim down to the size you want. Or, you can cut out just the front frame and glue it on to colored and patterned cardstock for a more custom look. You could even just use it as a tag and punch a hole in the top. It’s up to you!
- Write your message on the inside of the card {or back of the tag}.
