How to Decorate a Farmhouse Tray for Christmas
This modern farmhouse Christmas tray should go together in about 20 minutes {or even quicker if you don’t want to add the flocking!}. It can also be easily modified for any Christmas color palette or theme that you would like.
Materials
- faux pine garland
- tiered tray {this is the one that I have but this one is cute too if you like the galvanized metal better!}
- flocking {optional}
- battery powered lights {the ones with automatic timers are a lifesaver!}
- flocked pine cones
- Christmas balls or other ornaments
Directions
- If you read my post last week on how to flock a Christmas tree, you know that I’ve been busy flocking almost every piece of greenery that I can get my hands on. For this tray, I gathered up some faux pine garland and used wire cutters to cut it into two pieces to wrap around the two tiered levels. I then used this super easy tutorial to flock them and just placed them around the tray.
- Add in some battery powered lights and tuck in the battery pack underneath the greenery. I love the ones with the thin wire that come with an automatic timer. You just set them the first time you turn them on for when you want them to go on, and they will automatically come on at the same time every day and shut off after 6 hours. No worries about forgetting to turn them off and wearing down the batteries!
- Top with a whatever Christmas ornaments you would like! I’m going with a metallic winter wonderland this year so I just added some balls in a variety of metallic colors and finishes. I added the cute little sign {hopefully I will have a tutorial soon!} and then topped the holder off with a felt touque.
It’s super quick and easy and something that anyone can do! I think I’m going to be moving this one into our piano room once I finish up our Christmas kitchen, but for now it makes a cute Christmas centerpiece on our kitchen table. And I really just love anything with pretty lights! 🙂
Favorite Tiered Trays
If you’re looking for a new tiered tray, I’ve put together a few of my favorite finds for you. Before you order, make sure you check the dimensions and make sure that it’s the size that you’re looking for. You want to make sure it will fit your space as well as have a big enough diameter to hold what you’d like.
