Today I thought I would share some more Expedit inspiration found around the blogosphere. I’m pretty sure I could find a good use for one of these units in every room of my house!
I love the look of these floor to ceiling stacked units and the addition of the crown molding on the top. That is one serious amount of storage {just make sure you have a ladder around!}.
How fabulous is the yellow added to some of the cubes on this unit? {I’m assuming that’s wallpaper} Although this piece isn’t an actual Expedit, all you would need to do is add a thin sheet of plywood to the back and wall paper {or paint!} away.
The 2 x 4 unit would work great for storage in a front entry.
The Expedit can also be turned into a stylish and very functional window seat. The first picture looks like more of a custom designed unit but could easily be replicated with the Expedits.
The units work great in laundry rooms too. If you don’t happen to have a space this large, you can always use a smaller unit {or even mount it to the wall}
This has to be one of the more brilliant ideas for the Expedits. So smart to rotate the last unit and I love the chalk board!

They can even work around corners {although you do lose one section of the cubbies!}
And, of course they work great in craft spaces or home offices. Love them mounted on the wall!
So does anyone else have any creative uses for their Expedits? I would love to see how you use them in your home. I think I might need to head back to Ikea one day soon…
P.S. Unfortunately, Ikea did not sponsor this post in any way and I did not receive anything in exchange for this posting! 🙂

I have one in my baby’s room and love it. I put in bright colored buckets from Target that really pop against the white of the shelving.

Hi Jenn, thanks for the great ideas. I went to IKEA and bought one for my sewing room. Time to upgrade from the plastic bins.

We are hoping to finish our basement one of these days and I hope to have a playroom (if the kids are still little, haha) and a craft room that will definitely benefit from some organization! thanks for sharing!

I love their units. I re-vamped mine to fit my new playroom space better. I wish their baskets weren’t so pricey is all! http://lollyjaneboutique.blogspot.com/2011/08/cubby-system-revamp.html

I love these as well and use one as a tv stand / storage for my boys. I discovered the fabric “Itses” bins from Target fit perfectly! They are around $9 each and come in a few colors. I’m not sure about the plastic Itses bins because I haven’t tried them.
