I always make at least one handmade ornament for our tree each year. They’re fun to create and I always enjoy looking back at ornaments years’ past – especially those that the kids helped out with. If you’re looking to make some Christmas ornaments of your own, these printable Christmas ornaments are an easy and inexpensive way to dress up your Christmas tree or other Christmas decor.

DIY Printable Christmas Ornaments Tutorial
These DIY printable Christmas ornaments are super easy to make and just require a few basic supplies. I created 4 different printable designs that you can use, but you can always customize them with any printables you’d like. I made 2 of each design for our 9 foot tree and love the look!
Materials
- jumbo popsicle sticks {5/8 inch width}
- wood stain {these stain wipes are quick and easy if you don’t have stain on hand}
- white cardstock
- paper cutter
- baker’s twine {or other thin ribbon or string}
- double sided craft tape or other adhesive
- tin snips or sharp scissors
- sandpaper
Directions
- Download and print out the ornament printables onto white cardstock {or choose whatever printables you would like}. Trim to approximately 3.5×5 inches.
- Cut the popsicle sticks so they are just slightly longer than the width of the printables. I used tin snips for this but sharp scissors will also work. You may need to lightly sand the edges. Stain the pieces front and back and allow to dry.
- Using double sided tape, adhere the popsicle sticks to the front of the printables along the top and bottom edges.
- Cut twine to desired length and adhere to the back of the ornament using double sided tape.Press down firmly. {NOTE: Make sure the twine or ribbon you’re using is quite thin. Otherwise, it will be too thick to adhere the popsicle stick when you go to finish off the back.}
- Finish off by using double sided tape to adhere popsicle sticks to the back of the ornament.
