Create a cute Easter terrarium with this simple tutorial. It makes a pretty Easter centerpiece or easy Easter vignette to add a little spring to your home.
Seasonal Terrariums
If you like to decorate for the different seasons, but don’t have a lot of storage space available, look for a few basic decor pieces that you can just change up throughout the year. I’ve had this wood terrarium for years and have used it for a number of different holidays and seasons {you can see my fall terrarium here}. You can pretty much fill it with whatever season decor you have. It’s a great way to use those items that you already have. If you don’t have a terrarium, you can do the same idea with other decor pieces such as a hurricane lamp, lantern, or large dough bowl.

Easter Terrarium Tutorial
This is a very simple project that’s easy to customize to your style. I’ll give you the basic tutorial for what I did, but feel free to switch things up. Shop your home to see what items you already have and have fun playing around with it!
Materials
- glass terrarium or other glass container. Mine is no longer available but the Ikea Socker Greenhouse looks fairly similar. This black metal terrarium is another option.
- moss
- faux flower stems. Cherry blossoms, magnolias, or orchids are all good choices. You want to look for stems that are pliable but will still hold their shape so you can bend and position them as you would like.
- ceramic bunnies. These ones are from a local garden center but these bunnies are pretty similar {the smaller size}. I thought these wood bunnies would be a cute option too.
- small cake stand or other item to add some height. I bought mine at HomeSense but this cake stand is cute too. If you have a smaller terrarium, these mini stands would work well.
- mini carrots. I found mine at HomeSense but these mini carrots look similar and these ceramic ones are cute too. Easter eggs would work too.
- wood pieces or other fillers {optional} for added texture and interest
Instructions
- Place the cake stand {or any other large items you want to use} in the terrarium.
- Take the flower stems and mold the end of the stems so they will sit flat on the bottom of the terrarium. Bend the flower stem so it fills up the terrarium to add some height.
- Add the bunnies and fill up any gaps with moss.
- Place mini carrots, wood pieces, or other embellishments around the terrarium.
Easter Vignette
You can use the Easter terrarium for a pretty centerpiece or place it on a shelf or side table for a cute Easter vignette. I hope you have fun creating a little display of your own.
I actually have our terrarium in our family room behind our sofa. The bunnies like to watch Netflix so it’s the perfect spot for them. 🙂
