I have been busy decking our halls for the past couple of weeks and am SO excited to be joining in on the Canadian Christmas Home Tours today! Welcome to all of you visiting!
I must start by saying that I don’t think that I have ever had my home decorated this early before, but I am kind of liking the fact that it is now {almost!} all done and I just get to sit back and enjoy it for a whole month. I can never get enough of those Christmas decorations! 🙂
I have a lot of photos for you, so I thought that I would just show you the grand tour today and then come back with all of the little details in the individual rooms later. I think it will be a little less overwhelming for all us that way! 😉
I was hoping to start out the tour with our front porch but it has been pouring rain for at least the past week and I haven’t had a chance to finish things off yet. To give you a bit of a sneak peek, here is one of our hanging baskets that I finished up last week…
So come on in to our rustic little front entry. I’m still playing around in here with the layout and I’ve probably moved things around at least ten times!
Straight ahead off of our front entry way is our dining room – probably one of my favorite rooms in the house and the one that we actually spend the least amount of time in!
This hutch is always my favorite thing to decorate each season and I love the contrast of the black and the white.
Carrying on through the dining room, we come into our kitchen. This is our first Christmas since we gave it a little kitchen makeover so it was a lot of fun to work with this year! I’ll be posting all of the details on Monday so stay tuned! {UPDATE: Check out all of the details of our Christmas Kitchen HERE}
Looking from off of the kitchen, you see right into our family room.
This was the first year that I have ever had an artificial tree. Usually we head down to a local tree farm and cut our own tree each year, but we have a really busy December planned and our weekends seem to be full already.
Of course, one of the benefits to having an artificial tree is that I can get it up early and enjoy it for a much longer time than a real one. Nothing beats the beauty of a glowing Christmas tree!
I still actually have a few more ornaments that I am working on to add to the tree and the kids still have a few of their ornaments to add as well. We always like to make at least a couple of keepsake ornaments each year to remember all of the Christmases past.
{You can find the DIY Twinkling Canvas here}
Now we are heading down the hallway back towards our front door…
I made this Christmas advent calendar for the boys quite a few years ago now and always look forward to coming up with some fun Christmas activities for us to do.
The other wall holds some shelving with a winter vignette including my free sleigh ride printable and reindeer Believe canvas.
I will be continuing to update this page as I finish up the last bits of the decorating and will also be giving you more detailed views of the rooms over the next couple of weeks. I hope you enjoyed your visit and please let me know if you have any questions! Thank-you so much for coming!
Have a wonderful Christmas season!

My question is, how to you put décor on the drywall without making permanent holes in it.
I have tried 2 new products without success. I don’t have any success with temporary adhesive types. They seem to tear the drywall paper off my walls. Any help would be appreciated.
*Smiles*
I have always found that the command strips work well for me (the velcro ones). I have used it numerous times on our drywall with minimal problems {I did find that I had to wait a couple of weeks before putting it up onto new paint!} and it has also been working well on the tile in our kitchen (the Christmas plate that is above the stove). Hope that helps!
What a beautiful home you have and I LOVE your Christmas decor! I’m a huge fan of the black, white and red combo. I really love that white garland on your tree – gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks Christina! I love the white on the tree too – one of my new finds this year! 😉
Where did you find that garland?
If you could specify what garland you are referring to and can try and let you know. 🙂
The white garland on the tree – it’s beautiful – where did you find it?
I got it a number of years ago from a local store. Wish I had bought more as I haven’t seen anything like it since. Sorry!
You have the most beautiful home and decorations that I think I have ever seen outside of a magazine. You should be very proud! I wish I had the money to try all of your ideas for my home. 🙂
I love your blog and am a new reader. We just bought a home this year and I am really loving all your organization tips!
Thanks so much! We have been in our home for 12 years now and I have just been collecting a little bit each year. Congratulations on your new home and I hope you have a wonderful first Christmas there!
I love the way you decorated your kitchen ! Can you tell me where you got your Dish towel – it’s the most wonderful time of the year – I think it’s very pretty !
Also, I was unable to zoom in on your pictures, but what is on your countertop, right of the tree? It looks like a wooden box with straws…
Congratulations on your website, I a frequent visitor.
Happy Holidays to you and your family from Québec !
Thanks so much! The dish towel was from Home Sense. On the counter, I have a wooden tray that I filled with some faux greenery and pinecones. In the middle is a candle holder that I put some paper straws in. I’ll have a more detailed kitchen post up on Monday so you will be able to see it better then. Hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season too – I went to school at McGill and loved my time there. 🙂
I am a McGill Alumni myself !!!! What a coincidence !
Oh my gosh, I love how your stair banisters turned out! We tried to do that one year, and it was just rather sad looking, ha.
Your whole home looks like it belongs in a magazine spread for Christmas!
Thanks so much! The banister is always one of my favorites – anything with lights! 🙂
You have out done yourself buddy. Looks gorgeous. I don’t think the plate and the cookie jar will look as good in my place, but I will still love them both. What a perfect home to celebrate all things Christmas in. Amazing job!! Xo
Such a cheery home tour! Love all the hits of red and white mixed up with chalkboard touches. So cozy. Enjoy the season xo Kerri, A Pop of Pretty
Thanks so much Kerri! Hope you have a wonderful holiday season too!
Beautiful! x
Absolutely gorgeous!! Beautiful home and your decor is perfect! So glad I found your site, saw your post on Instagram.
Your new fan,
Margaret
Thanks so much Margaret! Glad we were able to connect! 🙂
Just beautiful Jenn!! I love all the hits of red against your gorgeous neutral background…now I want to get my tree this weekend!! (we usually wait since we get a big, real tree…but I might not be able to wait much longer:) Pinned, and sharing on my FB page this weekend:)
Thanks Krista! This is the first year in my whole life that I have had an artificial tree. I definitely miss going to pick out our own but we have so much going on in December that there really wasn’t going to be a time that we would all be able to go and get one unless we wanted to drag the kids out in the dark! 😉 It is nice having it up early though.
I love all of your decorations it looks like a lot of work! I was wondering where you got the vintage red truck on your shelf and the car canister with the tree on the roof. So Cute! Oh and the PEACE letters on your bookshelf.
It does take me a while to do, but I just do a little at a time and I really enjoy it. The vintage truck with from Home Sense (Home Goods in the states). It has a metal tree in the back that I ripped out and I put the other trees in. The car cookie jar is from World Market – it was such a great price – I think $12? I got the PEACE letters a number of years ago from one of my favorite local stores that actually closed down this summer. Happy Holidays!
Your home is beautiful! So much to love!
Debbie
Thanks Debbie! Totally loved your plaid mantel!
Without a doubt one of my FAV Christmas Home Tours to date!!! I love everything, but especially the dark furniture { I mentioned on Instagram too hehe } in the dining paired with the holiday items..so pretty!

Thanks so much! I painted the furniture a couple of years ago and I love it! Hope you have a wonderful holiday season as well!
Really gorgeous home tour Jen! Your tree is absolutely stunning! Have a lovely weekend! Angie xo
I really like the Noel wreath on the wall and the red touches against the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. It is simply beautiful for the holidays!
Your home looks so beautiful! I adore the pillow with the reindeer wearing a scarf. Where did you find that at?
Thanks so much! The pillow is designed by Craftberry Bush and I purchased it through Society 6. Here’s the link: http://society6.com/product/deer-buck-with-winter-scarf-watercolor_pillow#25=193&18=126
What a beautiful home. I love how the advent calendar is all in one place.
Thank-you Meghan! 🙂
Beautiful Jenn! I want to come over for a cup of coffee, its so warm & cozy!
Wish you lived closer Jen so you could do just that! xo
Jen, so gorgeous!! I love that little red ladder and your tree is gorgeous. So many beautiful vignettes. Great job, friend.
Hugs, Jamie
Your home is gorgeous Jenn! There was some familiar décor I spied… that yarn ball garland from Target is so cute! Couldn’t pass it up! I love the vintage truck and every other detail, big and small! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Beautiful and tastefully done home!!
The darling VW red bug automobile with the tree on it that you have on your kitchen counter, I’d LOVE one!! Where could I find it??
Thanks! The red bug cookie jar is from World Market. 🙂
I love everything you’ve done, but especially that tree! I’ve been debating getting an artificial one myself. Where did you get that white garland on the tree?
I bought the garland at a local store called Grandiflora (in Lynden, WA) but I have seem similar ones at HomeSense (or Home Goods if you are in the States). As much as I have always loved our real trees, it is so nice not having to worry about watering it (and water damage to the floors!) and picking up pine needles every day. I have also really enjoyed having it up longer as we can usually only have our real one up for a couple of weeks.
Love your gorgeous holiday home, Jenn!!
So cozy and inviting! What a wonderful home to get to spend the holiday season in!
This reminded me of Christmas <3 Great article thanks for sharing 🙂
Just find your home tour. Your house is not a house it is a home… a beautiful one at that! love it.
Thanks so much Lucie! It has taken us a number of years to get it this way! 🙂
Hi, saw this on Pinterest and love the photos. We are getting our first artificial tree this year and I was wondering where you got your tree from and how tall it is? Looks beautiful!
Thanks so much! We got it last year at Canadian Tire. I believe that it is 9 feet. 🙂
thanks so much! 🙂
Where did you get your stockings?
I got them a couple of years ago at a local store {Spruce Collectibles if you happen to be in the Abbotsford area}.
Hello!!
I love your decor. Your grey noel kitchen mat would be perfect in my kitchen. Where did you find it??
Thanks!!
Lauren
I got it at Target last year 🙂
what is the name of the paint/paint color you used in kitchen?
The paint is Old Soul by Benjamin Moore. 🙂
Your house is so pretty! Love the little details that add a lot
Thanks for sharing with us at Two Uses Tuesday!
Happy Thanksgiving!
That really captrues the spirit of it. Thanks for posting.
It all looks beautiful- I can’t wait to have my decorating done! We’re repainting some of our rooms, so I’m living in a half-decorated construction zone.
I’ve definitely been there! It’s no fun living in a construction zone but so worth it in the end!
You have such a beutiful home. I absolutely love the tree with the white garland thingy. I don’t know what it’s called just that it looks fabulous on the tree. Your living room is so nice and cozy. The whole space is just wonderful and full of Christmas cheer.
Thanks so much! I just got that pom pom garland last year and it really pops against the tree. Happy Holidays!
Hi! Where is your white garland on the tree from?
I bought that a number of years ago at a small, local shop. Sorry that’s not helpful!
What fun!! Thanks so much for inviting us into your home. It’s delightful. Linda
Hi Jenn! Wow! Your home is beautifully decked out in Christmas! I think just being in your house would put anyone in the Christmas spirit. Lovely. 😀
Beautiful!! This is the first time I have visited your blog and I LOVE your style! Merry Christmas from Texas!
Hi!! Your house is stunning. I was wondering if you could tell me where you hutch is from? Thank you 🙂
Thank-you! I bought the hutch about 15 years ago now from The Brick. It was originally a bight honey stain and I painted it a few years back with Annie Sloan chalkpaint in graphite – such a difference!
Absolutely gorgeous! I love the white garland on your Christmas tree! I need a little help in the decorating department, so I am pinning this for some inspiration! 😀
Thanks so much Ann! Happy decorating!
