Lots of pretty Christmas kitchen decorating ideas to add that festive touch to your kitchen this season! Dressed in white and green with pops of red for an updated traditional Christmas feel.
Hello! I hope you enjoyed our modern farmhouse Christmas dining room yesterday. It was a really fun one to put together!
Today I’m back again with another Christmas Home Tour hop – this time with my favorite Canadian bloggers! Christina from The DIY Mommy and Shannon from AKA Design host these hops each season and I love seeing all of the Christmas decorations and styles from across the country. You can find the full home tour line-up at the end of the post – I hope you’ll join in with us all week long!
Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year and I really try to celebrate it all month long. I pretty much love everything about Christmas – the family time, the Christmas movies, the lights – I even love hitting the malls to do my Christmas shopping. There really is just something magical about the season!
When it comes to Christmas decor, I really can’t choose between all of the different colors and styles. I kind of go crazy for it all. So… you’ll find that there’s a bit of a different feel to each of the rooms in our home. Our dining room is filled with pretty neutral decor in winter whites and metallics while our family is more fun with traditional reds and white. The kitchen seems to fall somewhere in between. 🙂
I usually use more red in our kitchen Christmas decor, but I toned it back a bit this year. Instead, I used more greens and kept the red to the occasional “pop” here and there. And, of course, I used some flocked garland along the top of the cupboards since I’m pretty much flocking everything! There are battery powered lights up there that turn on and off automatically so it looks really pretty at night {and I don’t have to stand on the counters to turn them on and off!}. The Fresh Cut Christmas Trees sign was from the dollar section at Target and I just popped it up there with a couple of Command strips.
I use trays a lot when I’m decorating the kitchen – both for our holiday decor and our every day items. I think it helps to keep the counters looking less cluttered and makes it easier to come up with a few cute vignettes. {It also makes it a lot easier to clean the counters!} The ceramic lighted houses and flocked greenery are scattered throughout the various displays to tie them all together.
The vignettes all have a mixture of functional items that we use regularly, along with more decorative pieces. A little Christmas sign or some greenery add a quick and easy Christmas touch to your everyday items.
I also like to switch out some of my kitchen cleaners for some fresh holiday scents. I love these Mrs. Meyers soaps in Iowa pine, but if you want to splurge the Thymes Frasier Fir all-purpose cleaner smells AMAZING!!! It literally makes me want to clean the counters even when they’re already clean. I also have the frasier fir reed diffuser in our front entry and I love getting that light scent of pine when I walk in the door. I really can’t tell you how good it smells.
I also love mixing up some homemade simmering potpourri {you can find my recipe HERE along with a cute free printable to package it up for gifts!}. There really is nothing better than the scents of Christmas!!
If you’ve visited me during the holidays before, you know that I always have a hot chocolate bar out somewhere. I picked up this cute little tea pot and mugs at Superstore this year and I’ll probably keep it out right through the winter.
The hot chocolate and marshmallows are kept in some glass canisters on our “scale” clock and I have some extras like candy canes and cinnamon that I also like to add.
It looks like our marshmallows are running low. Funny how that always happens!
We haven’t had a real Christmas tree for a couple of years ago so I picked up this live tree at Home Depot that we can plant after Christmas. I was going to add some ornaments, but I think I just like it naked. {With some lights of course!}
I think this is one of the only pieces of greenery that didn’t get flocked this season! I would actually have loved to add some flocking, but I wasn’t sure how the flocking would work long term since we will be planting it. Has anyone de-flocked a tree???
Spinning around you look into the corner of the kitchen leading into the dining room.
My chalkboard sign is a favorite of mine to decorate. I’ve had it for a number of years now and still enjoy switching it up every season.
I also added a few Christmas touches to our kitchen command center.
The To-Do list is definitely my favorite part! {If only it was real….}

All of the special holiday touches in your kitchen are so inspiring! I tend to neglect my kitchen in that regard, I suppose because I feel it needs an overhaul. But your kitchen is so lovely. I adore your hot cocoa station (those mugs and teapot are so sweet)! I hope you get to do some of the items on your to-do list this season. 😉
Amanda says

My daughter loves the teapot and mug set! I can’t find them anywhere though. Help
Jenn Lifford says
These ones were from a few years ago from our grocery store (Superstore if you live in Canada). I know Walmart also has cute sets that are relatively inexpensive. I often find things in the most unexpected places!
