Happy April! I took the weekend to finish up all of my tasks in the bathroom for the March Household Organization Diet and am ready to move on to the home office this month. This month we will be tackling all of those paper piles, decluttering and organizing the office {or office space if you don’t have a designated room!}, and getting the filing system and finances in order.
I find that tax time is the perfect time to work on the office area since you are already going through a lot of your paperwork and your financial situation is staring you right in the face. Depending on how easy it was for you to find all of your tax information, you should know what is and what isn’t working for you in regards to your filing system and general office organization.
So here are the tasks for April…

If you need more space to write down your monthly goals or have projects in other rooms that you want to get done this month, you can write them down on this sheet.

And lastly, I always like to have a calendar to keep track of when I actually plan on getting the tasks done. You can see more about how I organize everything in my cleaning binder HERE.

For those of you that have a designated room for your office {lucky you!}, you may have a little more work to do since you likely have a bigger space. In our house, my office spaces are spread around our three floors – our main desk, filing system and home management information is in the corner of our basement, there is a small kitchen command center on our main floor, and my blogging “office” is a little desk in our master bedroom. No matter what sized space you have though, a little decluttering and organization is always a good thing!
You will find everything you need to get the tasks done in the posts below and I will be popping back in throughout the month with some other office organization ideas and inspiration for you.

Love all the pictures of your pretty office spaces! Do you use a certain planner or create your own?

It has taken me two months to reorganize my kitchen (and still haven’t cleaned much yet) … and I’m retired! Guess I am slow … (okay, I do a lot of volunteering, so it’s a little like having a job). So I am going to try to hurry through the bathrooms (have only two), fit in kitchen cleaning where I can, and start on the office this month, too … wish me luck! 🙂 But I am enjoying it and getting a lot out of the process … so I will take what progress I can get! Just not sure how you fit it all in timewise! 😉 Love the pictures and all the hints. Thanks!

As long as there is progress, it’s all good! 😉 The kitchen is always a big one so hopefully the other rooms will be quicker for you! It actually took me two years of going through the plan before I really had it the way I wanted. It takes time!

Aww, thanks for the encouragement! 😀

wow, really inspiring! I am in the middle of a serious attempt to clean the house for Passover, which also means a good spring cleaning and hopefully getting organized where ever possible. At the moment most of the house looks like we’ve been burglarized but looking forward to opening drawers and cabinets and seeing them organized. Now just how to keep them that way, sigh! thanks for sharing on craft schooling sunday!

Sometimes things just have to get worse before they get better! lol! Good luck with the spring cleaning and organizing!

I like how every corner in the room reminds you that clutter is foreign in that room. Very inspiring and motivating pictures. Thanks.

Aside from how ultra organized and beautiful everything looks, I’m drooling over some of your stationery supplies. Aren’t Poppin pens great – such bright pops of colour. Visiting via SITSSharefest.

Hi. I stumbled on your Blog and love the organization ideas. I am wondering, where did you get the wall organizer for your family command center?
Thanks
Jenn Lifford says
I’m glad you found me! Unfortunately, our particular wall organizer has been discontinued. It was from the Martha Stewart collection at Staples.

I love everything you are doing but cant seem to pull up info to do any of it. I love the idea of organizing with binders and like tabs you used. Where can i find details on this and your filing system?

All of the links to the related posts are listed just below the printables. It sounds like the How to Get Rid of Paper Clutter, How to Organize Bills and the Updated Kitchen Command Centre might be the best places for you to start.
