I know we all say it, but I just don’t know where the time goes! This little dude has been asking for a Star Wars Party since Christmas time so I have been doing lots of blog surfing and Pinteresting searching for ideas. Let me tell you, there is definitely not a shortage of Star Wars party inspiration out there!
I did have a few ‘To Do’ pictures but I seemed to have deleted them somewhere along the way. They are pretty easy to make though, so hopefully my instructions will be okay.
- paper towel rolls or other firm tubes {I ended up using some old tubes from the Silhouette vinyl which worked great}
- glitter cardstock {12 x 12}
- black cardstock
- thick ribbon
- baker’s twine
- Quick Grip glue {or other strong glue}
- Double sided tape
- brads
- invitation {you can download one below or create your own}
- tags {you can download the Storm trooper tag below or create your own}
1. Cut your 12 x 12 glitter paper in half so you have two 6 x12 pieces. Wrap your paper around the tube {you may need to trim it down slightly smaller than the 6 inches depending on the size of your tube} and secure the paper into a tube shape with glue. {You will need a strong setting glue here. I had tried using double sided tape but it did not seem to adhere well to the glitter.} **NOTE: If you are using paper towel rolls for the invitations, you may need to find a stronger tube {such as a rolling pin or firm wrapping paper roll} to form your glitter paper tube.
2. Cut your black cardstock to a height of approximately 5-6 inches. Form into a tube around your roll and adhere with double sided tape or glue. Slide it on your paper towel roll so that it is flush with the bottom of the roll. Slide the glitter paper tube down over the top of the roll until it touches the black cardstock. Wrap some thick ribbon around your tube where the two papers meet and adhere with double sided tape.
3. Attach brads to the base of the invitation for the light saber buttons. Attach the Storm Trooper tag with baker’s twine.
The Storm Trooper tags can be downloaded here.
Using a digital kit from Natalie’s Little Corner of the World, I created the actual invitation, printed them out onto plain white paper, rolled them up and tied them with baker’s twine.
I then slipped them into the light saber tube and left some of the baker’s twine sticking out.
I created a more generic invitation for you to use if you would like. You can download it here.
Now if you are looking for a very simple invitation, you can just print out the above invite, attach it to some black cardstock, roll it up and tie it with a tag. Easy, peasy!!
If you are looking for more custom invites, there are some available at The Princess and the Peas and many more can be found on Etsy. This comic book invite was definitely unique.
And I love this movie stub idea as well.
These ones that I spotted over at Catch My Party were also pretty cool.
So, hopefully that provides you with some Star Wars invitation inspiration! Are you a fan of more elaborate invitations or do you like to stick to the basics?
Wishing you all a wonderful week! May the Force be with you until next time….

All of those invitation ideas seem so fun! Is it bad to hope my son gets into Star Wars so that I can have fun making a party themed after it?

These are so cute! Thanks for the idea! I too love to make the invitations fun. Last year we did a pirates of the Caribbean party and we delivered the invite in a mini treasure chest that the kids would bring back to the party to stash their loot after the treasure hunt. We even put a few gold coins in them to get them started. I’m going to get started on these and thanks again for the fabulous idea and the free printables!
