Hello, my friends! Welcome back to another week of The Creative Spark! I can’t wait to see what you all have been up to! I am finishing my reading nook pillows and starting some bedroom furniture painting today. Both of the kiddos are home from school due to a teacher’s strike so things aren’t going quite as fast as I would like! Ah, such as life!
Before we get started with the party, I have a little project that I would love your help with. I found this fabulous GIGANTIC clock at Home Sense on the weekend that I thought would be perfect for our master bedroom makeover {along with the chicken wire basket!}. It turns out it is just be a little too large for the proportion of our dresser and this is really the only spot that it would work.
{By the way, I will be painting the dresser white}
So, my question is… does it look ridiculously huge over the dresser? I still love it and would like to keep it. But, I still have 7 more days to take it back if it is not going to work. If you have a chance, please “weigh” in and let me know what you think!
Okay, now it is time to see what you all have been working on! Feel free to link up anything that you have created – crafts, DIY, scrapbook projects, organization ideas, decorating, recipes – anything goes! I can’t wait to see what you have come up with!

Jenn: I LOVE that clock!
Missy says
Sorry – going against the grain but I think it’s too big – only because of the size of the dresser. With a wider dresser it would be super cute!

Jenn,
I love the clock over the dresser. I think you should keep it!
Bonnie and Trish @ Uncommon says
Thanks for hosting Jenn! I think the clock will look a little smaller once you paint the dresser!

I love the clock,but I am not sure about the scale either! But if you love the clock, keep it and maybe find another home for it? Hope your week is going great! Angie xo

I really like your clock but I agree with you that it is out of scale. Is there somewhere else in the room you could hang it? That basket is fantastic, too. I wouldn’t take the clock back, I’d just find another place to hang it.
Or leave it there, who cares what anybody else thinks if you really love it, you’re the one who is going to be living with it.

AWESOME clock!! I was thinking the same thing… it may look smaller when the dresser is white. Even if it still doesn’t make a difference with the dresser painted, I agree you should keep it and find another spot for it. It’s too cool of a clock!!

The clock is awesome … Have you thought about maybe moving the dresser to the left a little and adding another element on the right to create a triangle grouping? That would balance out the weight of the clock. It is a great piece soni would definitely find a way to make it work.

The clock is fantastic. BUT, it is a bit overwhelming as it is in the photo. However, I think the problem is more that the dresser and the clock are competing with each other. If the dresser were painted white (as you mentioned) or stained with a grey or even an espresso stain, I think it would take a lot of emphasis off the currently dominating dresser and allow the clock to draw attention in a positive way.
