I seem to be doing too many projects at once right now and feel that I haven’t actually completed anything. I tend to get bored {or frustrated!} easily but I will try to stay focused for the next week and finish up what I have started! Sometimes too many ideas float around in my head and nothing actual makes it to production. Know what I mean?
Anyways, the one thing that I have finished this week is our pantry. I kind of use the term loosely, as it is a relatively small, very awkward corner cupboard.
About a year ago, I bought some sticky chalk board labels from Home Sense (I think they were about $12 for a 4 pack of 12×12 sheets) and cut a couple down to use on one cupboard door. I knew they would come in handy one day! My kiddies love their candy so I am trying to go through the different food groups with them. I am thinking that I will use this for a little checkboard through the day to see how many items in each category they eat. {Seriously, I should really be doing this for me!}
I cut up some cork board to use on the other door panel for a note board. It is the thicker cork and was the exact same depth as the inside section of the cupboard. I love it when things actually work out! They actually fit in their space quite snugly but I added a couple of command strips {the thin ones for the hooks} to each piece just to make sure they weren’t going anywhere. I then just made up a few button tacks and paper flowers to add a little color!
Using the same chalkboard sheets as I did for the door, I made up some chalkboard labels on my Silhouette.
I bought a few different can storage pieces before I found one that actually fit in this space. Not ideal but it will do. The basket on top holds, napkins, paper plates, candles, etc.
I made a few vinyl labels for the plastic storage containers and added another basket on the bottom for random food bags (pancake mix, chips, extra flour, etc.)
One day I would like to actually paint the back of the cabinet and make it a little prettier but for now I am calling it finished! {I need to tick something off my list!}
Since we are on the topic of pantries, I thought I would share some fabulous pantries and storage ideas that I have on one of my Pinterest boards. I must say, I am seriously loving Pinterest! If you have not checked it out yet, I would definitely recommend it and I think I have a few invites left if anyone needs one.
Now back to the pantries. I love pretty much everything about this one but those drawers and baskets on the bottom are awesome!
Their are lots of really pretty pantries out there with the walls dressed up. This one is done with fabric and mod podge.
And I am sure you have seen this one from House of Smiths with the painted and vinyl walls.
And the pennants on this one from Tatertots and Jello is so cute!
Pretty up your jars with ribbons, chalk board labels, or vinyl.
Or add some cute scrapbook paper and embellishments.
Now here’s a few more just for fun!

I love all of these. I seriously need to do something like this when we move (which is on Tuesday). I want to organize the cupboards a bit more.

I am inspired to try the corkboard on my cupboards now- thanks. Currently I have papers taped up and it is sloppy.
I’d love a Pinterest invite also, if you have any left.

I am hoping that one day my pantry will be well organized and everthing will be visible, easy to reach. For now it will have to be like it is.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Man I’d kill for a nice big pantry like some of those you pictured! But, I, like you, just have a cabinet (not even in my kitchen but downstairs in family room!) but I’m inspired by what you did! Love those big glass jars, esp. the one with baking stuff in it — mine is all over the place! Thanks for a great post!

I am attempting the big pantry makeover sometime soon… new shelves, new colors, organization… gonna attempt it all. We’ll see when it’s finally scratched off my list!
Well done on yours!

Your pantry works for your family – everything has a placed & is labeled- therefore, it is perfect.
Some of the featured pantries look pretty, but aren’t really practical – I don’t want my heavy mixer on the top shelf. What a pain to get it down and use.

Love your mini pantry. As a renter, I will never have one of those gorgeous custom pantries. It’s very nice to see how you prettied up a cabinet! I could do that too!
