This is my first year living in the USA with my husband and two children. My favorite tradition was midnight Mass listening to my family sing and play in the choir. Now we will make new ones. Today we had our first nativity pageant and it was beautiful. Perhaps that will be it.

I just got married this year and we bought a house, so it’s fun to start new traditions as one this year! (Especially in our own house with many future Christmases to come together1)

One of my favorite traditions.
Each year we have a new grandchild I like to make a special ornament. I use the clear glass ball ornaments and put a picture of the newborn inside. I write the birth info on the surface of the ball.
This year I get to make my 6th ornament!

I hate to put away all the decorations in January because I love the feeling of Christmas in our house. All the lights, the bright colors, the snowmen, the Nutcrackers, the greens, the gorgeous tree filled with memories, etc. make me want to have Christmas all year long. Thanks for the giveaway. I would probably spend it on more Christmas things!!

My favorite christmas tradition is to decorate the christmas tree with my family.
La tradition dans la famille , qui dure depuis des années, c’est la traditionnel réveillon de Noel.
We use homemade advent calendars and put slips in each night for our boys, either having them go on a Scavenger Hunt in the house for a surprise, a surprise outing (playdate, bowling, etc.), or other fun events we do as a family (driving to see lights, dinner out, making cookies, etc.). My boys are 17 and 11 and they still love this tradition!
We do that too! I hope my boys still want to continue on with it when they are older as yours do!
My favourite Christmas tradition is eating stuff we don’t normally eat. I love to break the routine and not caring about anything apart from enjoying ourselves.

Every year my family spends both Christmas night and New Year’s Eve with my grandparents and extended family. We exchange gifts and cook special meals and eat lots of treats. That’s my favorite tradition.

Thanks for this incredible offer, it could really add some umph to our 1st Christmas as retirees. Our favorite tradition used to be an evening Open House, 11:00 – midnight neighborhood caroling, followed by Midnight Mass then home for family gift exchange before bed…great times and memories. 🙂

At the end of the Holidays we save the Christmas cards we received and then at the start of the new year every night at dinner we take one of the cards and pray for the sender to have a blessed new year. We do this nightly until we have prayed for each family, friend etc. Who sent us a card.
