Welcome back to our Trim the Tree Party!!
I love handmade Christmas ornaments and think that they add such a special touch to the tree and other holiday decor. This week, I have invited some of my favorite blogging friends to join me in sharing one of their favorite handmade ornaments. At the end of the week we will have a special giveaway for you that you don’t want to miss, so don’t forget to check back! There will be three new ornaments each day, so you should have a beautifully decorated tree by the end of the week! 😉

Hi Clean and Scentsible readers! I’m Danielle and I blog over at Finding Silver Pennies! I live by the sea in Scituate, on Boston’s South Shore, with my husband, two boys and our rescue dog. We love decorating for the holidays in a coastal style! I’m so excited to be sharing my little handmade ornament with you today as part of Jenn’s Trim the Tree party. I made driftwood sailboat ornaments:
We’re always walking the beaches search for treasures and we LOVE finding driftwood.
You should see my basement, it is filled with furniture to be painted and driftwood!
How to Make a Driftwood Sailboat Ornament
Materials:
– Driftwood (or twigs) – Drill -Titebond Wood Glue – Nautical Charts (or other paper) – Scissors – Twine – Glue Gun – Hot Glue – Wax PaperDrill holes into the base (which will become the boat), you want to make it big enough to fit another stick (which will become the mast).
Dab a little Titebond in the holes.
Tie twine to the top of the mast. This will become your hanger. Make sure you have enough so it will fit over your branch.
Cut nautical charts into triangles to look like sails. Glue on with hot glue!
Best part is they’re quick to dry so you can get them up on your tree.
I also made a nautical garland which I’ll be sharing on my blog! Here’s a few more images of the boats. They’d also be cute on gifts!
Thanks so much for having me stop by Jenn! If you like painted furniture or coastal decor I hope you stop by my blog to say hi! You can also find me on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.
