TGIF!!! It seems like it has been a long week this week {maybe they all seem like that?} but I am happy that Friday is here! Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? I will be finishing about 15 more of these cute Easter Bunny suckers…
At the beginning of the week I shared the carrot treats that I had made for Matthew’s class. Connor then had to have something for his little preschool friends so I made up a bunch of these cute Easter bunny suckers {inspired from The Mother Huddle}
Really, the hardest part of this project was finding the big round suckers! {I ended up finding mine at a dollar store} They do take a little bit of time to assemble but don’t take a lot of brain power! 😉
Materials
- suckers
- pipe cleaners
- styrofoam balls
- google eyes
- pom poms {2 for arms, 2 slightly smaller ones for the snout, small pink one of the nose, and slightly larger pink one for the tail}
- ribbon
- wooden hearts {for feet}
- white paint
- black sharpie
- ribbon
- glue {I used Quick Grip}
- double sided tape
- Slide the styrofoam ball over the popsicle stick. Just twist it a bit to get it over the sucker wrapper.
- Cut a pipe cleaner in half, fold each half and stick it in the ball for the ears.
- Using a liquid glue, add the eyes, the small pink pom for the nose and two slightly larger poms for the snout.
- Paint the wooden hearts white, let them dry, and outline with a black sharpie.
- I attached the white poms for the hands and the heart feet with double sided tape. I’m sure glue would have been fine but I just wanted to make sure I didn’t somehow get glue in the sucker.
- Attach the tail to the back with double sided tape.
- Add a ribbon and you are done!
If I wasn’t making 25 of these little critters, they would be fun to dress up a bit more with cute little wire whiskers and a fun Easter tag. I was also wanting to add a little pink pipe cleaner inside of the ears but I didn’t have any on hand. I still think they are pretty sweet.

Jenn, these are SO adorable! We actually just made something really similar yesterday, but ours used dum-dum pops and a wooden bead instead of a styrofoam ball. I actually like yours better though, and I love the idea of the double sided tape because my son keeps complaining that he can’t eat the lollipop. 🙂
Would you share these here at my party, pretty please?

When I first started seeing these a couple years ago they used a white wooden ball for the head. Sounded simple enough but I searched high and low and never found white which meant you’d have to paint the wood colored beads (drip, drip, drip marks). Then decided to use Styrofoam heads. Next, as you said – try and find large enough suckers!!!! I see them now at Walmart on a rack of their own near the cash registers for 50 cents each so this year it’s gonna happen. If you’re making for an entire class it’s gonna add up but the small suckers just don’t have the same impact.
